← AboutMission & Principles

Everyone should see
the same price
the trading desks see.

Deliver institutional-grade trade intelligence to every importer, regardless of scale.

Commodity pricing is a power structure. The large trading houses have desks of analysts watching every tick, every shipment, every sanction. The rest of the market has spreadsheets, WhatsApp groups, and a polite request to the supplier. When those two sides meet, the outcome is predictable.

TradeStance is the platform that tilts that table. Every number we surface is scraped, validated, and anchored against a formula — P_L = (P_F + C_L + C_S + C_I) × (1 + T) + D + F. We don’t publish a number we cannot defend. We don’t push an opinion when a confidence interval will do.

The long-term goal is simple: make “what’s the real price?” a question any importer — from a two-person shop to a regional distributor — can answer in thirty seconds.

Principles

Five rules that sit above the roadmap.

01

Evidence, not opinion

Every price, every forecast, every signal comes with a source, a method, and a confidence interval. If we can’t show the math, we don’t ship the number.

02

Mathematical anchoring

The Landed Cost formula is the ground truth. Nothing leaves the platform without reconciling against it — duty, freight, insurance, and FX all checked at request time.

03

Pre-commit to drift

Forecast accuracy is public. If 7-day MAPE crosses 5%, the model retrains the next morning, automatically. We pre-commit to refreshing so you never get stale signals in silence.

04

Never the 'trust me' stack

No black-box numbers, no hidden weights, no proprietary indexes. Attention weights are exposed for every forecast. You can see which events moved the prediction.

05

Customer over churn

We optimise for 18-month retention, not for signup spikes. Price accuracy beats growth metrics. A customer who gets the right answer on day 900 is the business we’re building.

We will not

The short list of what we won’t ship.

×

Sell customer data to third parties, brokers, or data vendors. Ever.

×

Publish a price signal without a confidence interval, even if it makes the UI noisier.

×

Build a 'trust us' proprietary index. Every calculation is documented and auditable.

×

Lock core data export behind a paywall. Your data leaves with you, in CSV + JSON.

×

Take money from the commodity exchanges we report on. It's a real conflict and we won't have it.

Hold us to it.

Join the waitlist. When you’re on the platform, tell us when we drift from any principle on this page — we’d rather hear it from you than read it in a review.
